Move Mountains

Dear Leaders

The New year has now launched with many churches starting the year with prayer and fasting.  The new is upon us again, a new chapter to be written by those with a ready pen of faith.  Faith is the absolute key for doing great things for God, we cannot put our faith on the back burner. We don’t just rely on personal experience or advice from others, we are leaders with a faith compass.  We are the leaders of the “substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  Faith is knowing God will do what He said He would do, and all the mountains you face can move, overcome, and go to the next level.  The fact is your leadership is not dependent on your talents or gifts, but upon your dependence on the Holy Spirit and God’s power, and God’s ability to do the impossible.  Have confidence in God and ignore the critics, the doubters and those who never do anything but have opinions about everything.  Faith is of the highest importance because your dreams, plans, ideas will all be attacked.  Faith quenches those nagging self-doubts, fears, and ever-present insecurities.  The year in front of you is a great year with many God plans to be yet realized.  It will take enormous faith, but it will be incredibly rewarding.

We will always face new and big mountains in our lifetime that we must move, go through, go over, in order to fulfill the God-given dreams.  Mountain moving faith will birth mountain moving prayers that will indeed move mountains.  God already knows what mountains you will face this year and He has prepared you to move these mountains.

“Because you’re not yet taking God seriously,” said Jesus. “The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.”  Matthew 17:20 (MSG)

This scripture has in it the element of speaking to your mountain.  “Say,” you would “tell” the mountain “move.”  Faith has a word in your mouth and faith demands you speak it out, say it, and that has in it the power to move the invisible realm.  Paul says in II Corinthians 4:13, “I believed, and therefore I spoke, we also believe therefore speak.” This is the truth about faith, believing in the heart and saying with the mouth.  This is the spirit of faith taking hold of your mouth, your words, your declaration.  The day I realized this truth and began to practice it, my whole life and ministry took on a new supernatural level.  It was a little strange at first because I sounded to myself a little strange to say the things I was believing and things I was seeing, but they were huge mountains to climb.  My words began to allow my faith to grab, take hold of and own it as mine.

I would like to encourage you to make faith a word in your mouth and say to your mountains “move.”  Mountains represent barriers, hindrances, obstacles, problems, and impossible things in front of you that come in various sizes and are unique to each person.  They can be moved and shall be moved.  God is our mountain mover!  Mountains are those things that have “impossible” written above them.  Dreams that look impossible. Things that look impossible are a lie.  Impossible is only how I see it.  It will be amazing how you will change your perspective and what was impossible now seems possible.

It always seems impossible until it is done!  Nelson Mandela

You are a faith leader.  You are a God believing leader who believes nothing is impossible.  You are a mountain moving leader. Read Deuteronomy 31:6 (MSG) out loud several times.

“Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you.  He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you.”  Deuteronomy 31:6 (MSG)

The faith leader is a positive word-based leader.  Here are the scriptures we should put into our heart and say to our mountains “move.”

  • II Chronicles 20:15 (GNT) - Jahaziel said, “Your Majesty and all you people of Judah and Jerusalem, the Lord says that you must not be discouraged or be afraid to face this large army. The battle depends on God, not on you.

  • II Chronicles 20:17 (GNT) - You will not have to fight this battle. Just take up your positions and wait; you will see the Lord give you victory. People of Judah and Jerusalem, do not hesitate or be afraid. Go out to battle, and the Lord will be with you!”

  • John 14:14 (MSG) - “Believe me: I am in my Father, and my Father is in me. If you can’t believe that, believe what you see—these works. The person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I’ll do it. That’s how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I’ll do.

  • Mark 9:23 (MSG) - Jesus said, “If? There are no ‘ifs’ among believers. Anything can happen.”

  • Jeremiah 33:3 (GNT) - “Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvelous things that you know nothing about.

  • Zechariah 4:6-7 (NIV) - 6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. 7 “What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’”

  • Proverbs 6:2 (NIV) - you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth.

“Say” Today!

  • I will believe in spite of what I see

  • I will not give up, give in or retreat

  • I will look impossible in the eye and say “move”

  • I will declare my life is great and getting greater

  • I will remove “I can’t” and replace it with “I can” and “I will”

  • I will omit the words “If,” “Maybe” and “I Don’t Believe That”

  • I will expect, prepare for and experience God’s best

  • I will live by a dynamic faith that makes things happen

Be Blessed - you, your family, your ministry, your church, your future, and may faith fill you to the brim!
